L'avis des experts
An even smaller amount of Cobrana was made in 2024 – the wild boars enjoyed most of
it – a small parcel grown at 700m on slate where there is a lot of Garnacha Tintorera and
whites co-planted with Mencía. Fermented with 100% whole bunch and aged in amphora,
this combines pretty wild flowers and purple fruit with assertive but ripe tannins that
bring a sappy energy perfectly summing up Bierzo’s confluence of continental and Atlantic
influences. Give it some time in glass to express itself fully. 2026-32
The pale red 2024 Kinki is slightly reductive and flinty, with floral and meaty notes as the wine opens up. It matured in 800-liter amphorae for eight months. 2023 was a great vintage, and 2024 is no less, with the fresh character of the vintage and the healthy character of the place. Perhaps this is a little more serious, more wine than previous vintages, but it is still expressive, clean and open, floral, mineral and fine-boned. It has 13% alcohol, a pH of 3.34 and 5.08 grams of acidity, denoting very good balance and contained ripeness. 4,400 bottles produced.
