Salia 2022
Description

The village red from Ledaña 2022 Salia was produced with a blend of 60% Syrah, 30% Bobal and 10% Touriga Nacional, and it has strong Syrah aromatic typicity with floral hints. It fermented with indigenous yeasts and 50% full clusters that were foot trodden. It's more approachable than the eponymous Finca Sandoval, looking for more fruit; it's a rounder wine from soils with more clay, but it's lighter and more agile, with more finesse than previous vintages. It matured in used 300- and 500-liter oak barrels, but they are moving toward foudre and concrete, like in the white. It's delicious, and it feels like a real bargain. 26,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in June 2023.
