Description

The Wine Advocate:

The 2024 Le Rosé was produced with the grapes from pre-phylloxera vines at 950 meters above sea level in a plot called Carresoto in the village of Miño de San Esteban. The wine has a bright color, a little deeper this year because there was fewer white grapes (68% red grapes this year). The vintage didn't have as much sun, and the ripeness was "more Loire," with more fragile wines, despite the low yields after the frost. It has 13.93% alcohol, a pH of 3.38 and 6.5 grams of acidity, parameters of a very complete wine. It's round and tasty, with incisive flavors and along, chalky finish. Only 800 bottles were produced from one 600-liter barrel. (Luis Gutiérrez)

Decanter:

Beautiful nose with an alluring, fino-like touch of almond and green olive brine. Camomile, linden and hay mingle with the toasted almond, crunchy yellow apple, pear, quince and fennel seed. Wood is very well judged, building a refined frame around the vivid fruit core. A serious wine with plenty of texture, detail and ageing potential. (Ines Salpico)

James Suckling:

This shows sanguine orange with a toasty note. The palate is bright and linear, with a chalky texture and good concentration, long and chiseled. Very savory, with a saline finish and a marked textural element. From two parcels in Miño de San Esteban, from centenary vineyards planted on poor sandy limestone soils. Each parcel is planted with half tempranillo and half albillo mayor. A blend of 68% tempranillo and 32% albillo mayor. pH 3.45. Aged in 100% new Darnajou 600 L barrel. Drink or hold.
