Description

Inés, du domaine Vizcarra, est un vin puissant et minéral. Loin de la robustesse classique, ce rouge est une véritable leçon de finesse et d'équilibre. Un coupage de Tinto fino agrémenté d'une petite touche d'Albillo mayor, qui apporte fraîcheur et légèreté. Un vin profond, doté d'une structure imposante mais d'un cœur tendre aux arômes de fruits noirs et de fleurs, ainsi que d'une texture soyeuse très séduisante.

Vignoble et élaboration

Description
Vignobles situés dans la commune de Mambrilla de Castrejón, dans la province de Burgos.
Année de plantation
Les vignobles de Tinto Fino ont 70 ans et ceux de Merlot 30 ans.
Sol
Gravier et sol argilo-limoneux.
Vinification
Élaboré par décantation par gravité. Trié sur deux tables (grappes et grains) puis effectué l’égrappage avant une fermentation de 20 à 25 jours dans des fûts ouverts de 400 litres et dans des cuves en béton de 2 000 litres, avec 3 pigeages quotidiens à une température de 29 °C. Fermentation malolactique en fût.
Elevage
Environ 18 mois en fûts de chêne français (90 %) et américain (10 %).

Decanter:

Perfumed with ripe black forest fruit, cherries in chocolate liqueur and sweet baking spices. Fine concentration on the palate, the elevated fruit concentration perfectly balanced by the intense but successful oak regime. Moreish powdery tannins will hold this wine effortlessly, in the glass and in the bottle. Enjoy with a good steak.

The Wine Advocate:

As I commented in the note for the Celia, the 2022 Inés is more voluptuous and showier than its sibling—it's creamy, toasty, smoky and spicy, It fermented in 50% open-top 400-liter barrel and 50% concrete vats and matured in 400-liter French and American (10%) oak barrels for 16 months and a further three months in a 2,000-liter oak vat. It hits the scale at 15% alcohol, but perhaps the small percentage of white grapes (3% Albillo from the same vineyard as the Tinto Fino) gave it an extra spark of freshness. It has some tannins that would welcome some more time in bottle, and the oak should also integrate further with bottle age. 2,000 bottles and 60 magnums produced. It was bottled in June 2024.

James Suckling:

Good depth and complexity, with aromas of rich but fresh plums and berries and touches of chalk and warm spices. Fine-grained, dusty tannins on the palate, with a medium to full body and a long, chalky finish. Drink or hold.

Tim Atkin:

Now made from Tempranillo and 2% Albillo Mayor - it used to have a Merlot component as well, this is a wine that reflects the heat and drought of the 2022 vintage, but is none the worse for that. Made with grapes from the 68-year-old Finca Inés in Mambrilla de Castrejón, it has some subtle reduction, a sturdy carapace of tannins, inky fig and damson fruit flavours and 1% American oak for a hint of baking spice sweetness. 2027-35
