Viña La Recuperada 2023
Description

The 2023 Viña La Recuperada comes from an old recovered vineyard that was abandoned on their estate. It is at a slightly higher altitude (750 meters above sea level) and has been certified organic for four years now, but the wine carries no certification. This fermented in stainless steel with indigenous yeasts and matured in 500-liter barrels for 12 months. It has moderate ripeness and a medium-bodied palate, with 13% alcohol, a pH of 3.36 and 5.16 grams of acidity. There is a jump in seriousness; this has more concentration but there's no weight, and the tannins are sweet and round. It's a wine more from the valley than the ones from Dragonte. 3,500 bottles produced. It was bottled in February 2025.
Expressive, complex nose that’s deep and pristine, full of wild black cherries, mulberries, boysenberries, lavender, white pepper and dark mineral. Juicy and close-knit, with an almost full body and a firm, savory finish. Long and authentic. Drink from 2026.
This wine marks a change of direction for Luna Beberide: it used to be part of the “Art” blend
but with the exciting redesign of the range, this now stands alone as a Vino de Paraje. It is
aged 12 months in barrel yet the oak seamlessly wraps around dark berries, blueberry and
spice. There is a refreshing graphite and slate core while the tannins are fine and polished,
adding texture. A touch of liquorice, spicy notes and chocolate add depth. It is a serious,
structured Mencía with stony precision and aging potential. 2025-2030
