Le Vega Sicilia Unico Reserva Especial est le vin sans millésime de Vega Sicilia, véritable hommage à la tradition et à un style légendaire. Il réunit les meilleures qualités de différents millésimes de l'Unico. Seuls les meilleurs millésimes de cette référence emblématique sont utilisés pour créer ce vin d'une extraordinaire complexité. Pour son millésime 2025, des fûts issus des récoltes 2011, 2012 et 2013 ont été sélectionnés afin de créer un assemblage superbe. Le critique et Master of Wine Tim Atkin l’a désigné meilleur vin rouge de l’année dans son rapport spécial sur la Ribera del Duero 2024. La perfection absolue sous forme de vin et l'essence la plus profonde du Terroir de la maison de Valladolid.

Couleur cerise avec un bord orangé.
Nez
Très harmonieux, subtil, corsé et extrêmement élégant, avec des notes de fruits noirs (mûre), d'épices fines (poivre noir), des notes balsamiques et de chocolat noir, ainsi que des notes d'encens et de tabac.
Bouche
Il allie puissance, structure, fraîcheur et tension, et se distingue notamment par la texture soyeuse et l'élégance de ses tanins.

Entre 16 et 18 °C.

D'ici à 2085 environ, à condition qu'il soit conservé dans des conditions optimales.

Vignoble situé à une altitude comprise entre 700 et 900 mètres au-dessus du niveau de la mer.

3 000 à 3 500 kilogrammes par hectare, ce qui équivaut à 21 à 24,5 hectolitres par hectare.
Vendanges
Vendange manuelle dans des caisses de 12 kg.
Vinification
Pour élaborer ce vin, des cuvées des millésimes 2011, 2012 et 2013 ont été sélectionnées. La maison explique que ce mode d'élaboration, aujourd'hui presque disparu en dehors de ce vin Vega Sicilia, témoigne d'une ancienne coutume des domaines consistant à assembler leurs meilleurs millésimes et cuvées pour créer un vin qu'elles appelaient « Reserva Especial », la fierté du producteur.

Tim Atkin:

Reserva Especial is always a blend of three vintages, released after a decade or more in barrel and bottle when it is beginning to be ready to drink. The 2025 release partners two very good to excellent vintages (2011 and 2012) with one of the wettest in history (2013), but this is so much more than the sum of its parts. In fact, it's one of the great Vega Sicilias. Marrying Tinto Fino and 4% Cabernet Sauvignon, it has layers of sweet spices, tobacco leaf, graphite and liquorice, blackberry and summer berry flavours, granular tannins and an attractive volatile lift. Wine doesn't get any better than this. 2027-45.

James Suckling:

This is Vega Sicilia's 2025 release. A mix of three vintages: 2011, 2012 and 2013. Blackberries, ashtray, incense, fine spices, dark chocolate and touches of black pepper and balsamic. Almost something bloody, but the highlight is really the sheer, velvety sheet of sweet, fully melted tannins, which are ultra-polished and refined. The long finish goes on well over a minute. The Wine Advocate:

The NV Único Reserva Especial 2025 Release was produced with a blend of wines from 2011, 2012 and 2013, with 14% alcohol, a pH of 3.86 and five grams of acidity. It has the core of the 2012, possibly the higher percentage in the blend too, which gives the power and structure with the freshness and tension of 2013, which also provides some balsamic characteristics, and less of the 2011. It has a very harmonious and subtle nose, and the wine shows extra complexity and elegance. It has the Único nose with more nuance and subtleness, but what I liked the most was the silky texture and the elegance of the tannins, as usual combining more developed characteristics with elegance and freshness. This is another stellar release of their non-vintage classical blend, slowly going back to the style of yesteryear. A total of 18,518 bottles and 261 magnums were produced.
