Description

The Wine Advocate:

The 2023 Branco was produced exclusively in stainless steel after having tried different vinifications. It's a blend of Bical, a more neutral and serious grape, and Cercial from the limestone soils in the Vale D. Pedro, which has acidity, and it was put through partial malolactic to gain in complexity. It's pale with some green tints, with a balsamic and lactic nose, clean and expressive, with some stony reductiveness. The whole clusters are pressed, and this is the only wine they ferment with selected yeasts, as they use low temperatures for the fermentation and he found he has problems with the indigenous yeasts at low temperatures. This wine has freshness and youth, with a maritime influence, some saltiness and a bitter twist in the finish. It's fresh, precise and elegant, with contained ripeness, 13% alcohol and a pH of 3.28. 9,940 bottles produced. It was bottled in June 2024.
