Mixtura Blue 2021
Description
Gutier Seijo nous propose une nouvelle merveille avec Mixtura Blue, un vin mono-cépage de Mencía du Bierzo provenant d'un seul vignoble. Fidèle à son projet, il est récolté par Vendange manuelle et chaque grappe est soigneusement sélectionnée afin de garantir une qualité exceptionnelle. Il est élevé pendant 12 mois en fût, puis transféré dans un foudres de chêne autrichien où il repose pendant 24 mois supplémentaires. Le résultat est un vin rouge fin, élégant et plein de nuances, dont il n'existe qu'un peu plus de 3 300 bouteilles. Un véritable privilège.

The floral and aromatic 2021 Mixtura Blue, identified with a black label and a dash of blue on a corner, was produced with Mencía grapes from a vineyard in Bierzo, a 60-year-old plot in the zone of Cacabelos. It fermented with 100% full clusters and indigenous yeasts in well-seasoned and neutral 225-liter oak barrels. It matured in the barrels for one year and spent a further year in Austrian oak foudre. It has notes of wild berries and herbs with a spicy twist and is very showy and attractive. It's medium-bodied, spicy and fresh, with notes of acid berries and spice, very fine tannins and a tasty, long and clean finish. 3,319 bottles were filled in August 2023.
This shows herbal and floral aromas woven in with subtle red berry character. The palate is juicy, with crunchy fruit and a medium to full body. This is a blend of mencía from Bierzo and caino from Val de Avia. Drink now.
