Tri manuel et optique des raisins. Vinification dans des cuves thermorégulées en béton, bois et acier inox avec remontages variables selon les lots. Pendant la fermentation alcoolique, la température est de 25 °C et la durée de cuvaison varie entre 18 et 28 jours. Pressurage pneumatique horizontal.
Elevage
Rouge crianza de 15 à 17 mois en fûts de chêne français à grain fin et à chauffe moyenne (45 % neufs et 55 % ayant déjà servi), avec soutirage tous les 5 mois.

Fresh, poised but demure on the nose with upscale oak rendering a fine note of cigar box and tobacco to the cool cassis, tapenade and grilled red capsicums. Very well-balanced on the palate with a juicy medium body and a tight but layered finish. Refined and long. Well-done for the vintage. Already approachable, but better from 2025.

The Wine Advocate:

The 2021 du Tertre has turned out well in bottle, offering up aromas of dark, minty berries, pipe tobacco, orange zest and pencil shavings, followed by a medium-bodied, supple and suave palate built around velvety tannins and bright acids. This Cabernet-dominant blend represents a strong effort for this property, no doubt helped by the brave decision to sell off one-third of the production in bulk.

Ripe cherries, sappy green tobacco, cedar, and floral notes all emerge from the 2021 Château Du Tertre, a more complex, slightly herbal, yet textured, medium-bodied, balanced Margaux. It has solid mid-palate depth, a smoky, darker fruited, inward style, ripe tannins, and outstanding length.
