Description

Ce vin est principalement élaboré à partir du cépage Tempranillo, bien qu'il provienne de vieux vignobles de Villabuena de Álava où cohabitent d'autres cépages minoritaires qui se mélangent au cépage principal. Seules 600 bouteilles ont été produites pour ce millésime, qui se révèle concentré tout en conservant une bonne acidité. Il est riche d'une large gamme d'arômes fruités et présente un grand potentiel de vieillissement.

Vignoble et élaboration

Description
Cinq micro-parcelles de vignes situées dans la région de Villabuena de Álava. Cultivées de manière écologique, ces vignes ont un rendement inférieur à 500 grammes par cépage.
Sol
Argiles ocres et schistes d'origine calcaire à différentes profondeurs selon les parcelles.
Vinification
Fermenté et élevé en fût pendant un an. La fermentation est spontanée et le vin n'est ni filtré ni clarifié.

Unfortunately, I found the 2017 NAHI Tempranillo quite oaky and also marked by the challenges of the vintage, which, combined together, gave it a harsh texture and a strict personality. This comes from five micro plots of very old vines in the village of Villabuena de Rioja, planted with mixed varieties that are also the source for a white wine. This is mostly Tempranillo with some Garnacha, Graciano and Mazuelo. Perhaps with more time in bottle? It fermented and matured in barrique. 676 bottles were filled in November 2018.
