La « Selección de la Familia » est le projet personnel de l'équipe technique de Ramón Bilbao, qui vise à rechercher l'expression la plus équilibrée du cépage Tempranillo. Il s'agit d'un vin de Reserva issu d'une sélection de parcelles spécifiques où l'altitude et le sol confèrent une fraîcheur vibrante. C'est un vin unique au sein d'une maison historique, soyeux, avec des arômes de fruits noirs très marqués et une superbe intégration du bois qui respecte, avant tout, l'identité du vignoble de Haro.

Formerly known as Reserva Original, the name of this wine changed to underline that the fruit is sourced from two specific vineyards in Villalba (13ha of 70 year-old vines), which always used to go into the wine enjoyed by the family. Now everyone is able to appreciate this supremely elegant Tempranillo. The nose is dominated by dried fruit, with laurel and thyme in support, hints of leather and fig. A rich savoury character, succulent and gourmand. Great with cordera asado (roast lamb) or pollo al ajillo (Spanish garlic chicken).
Villalba - the source of Selección de la Familia - can be cool at the best of times, but is especially so in Atlantic vintages like 2018. Aged in new French oak, this has aromas of thyme and cedarwood, lots of racy acidity, plum and blueberry fruit and a chewy, age-worthy finish. 2024-30
Le domaine Ramón Bilbao a été fondé en 1924. Dès le XIXe siècle, la famille Bilbao Murga, avec à sa tête Don Ramón, commercialisait les vins Ramón Bilbao et Viña Turzaballa.
