Description

Produit par le duo formé de Telmo Rodríguez et Pablo Eguzkiza, ce vin rouge est le reflet d'une parcelle mythique d'à peine 2,5 hectares, où des cépages âgés de plus de 80 ans défient le temps sur les coteaux granitiques surplombant la rivière Bibei. Fidèle à leur philosophie d'intervention minimale, ce vin est élaboré à partir d'un assemblage traditionnel dominé par le Mencía, mais enrichi de cépages qui lui confèrent élégance et texture.

The Wine Advocate:

The expressive, floral and aromatic 2020 As Caborcas was cropped from a warmer year but without the frost or mildew of past years like 2017 and 2018. 2020 was a year when they achieved a wine with good structure and a little more alcohol (14%), which was not really noticeable, as the wine comes through as balanced and elegant, textured and juicy, with fine tannins but not lacking clout. 2,664 bottles were produced. It was bottled in July 2022 after 15 months in 1,500- and 2,000-liter oak foudres.

James Suckling:

This is so classy with fresh forest fruits, subtle white pepper and violets. Extremely aromatic. Medium-bodied with very fine tannins that give finesse and length. Crispness adds to the presence of this wine. A light austerity gives tension at the end. Drinkable but even better in two or three years.
