L'avis des experts
There's a new red blend, the 2023 Mallaura Tinto, produced with 60% Monastrell and 40% Graciano, an unusual blend that works surprisingly well. It was produced with grapes from 30-year-old vines in Casa Colaus, where he moved in 2020. It's serious, a little closed, austere and nuanced, elegant and insinuating. It has moderate ripeness and a contained 13% alcohol, a pH of 3.6 and 5.1 grams of acidity, coming through as harmonious, elegant and balanced. It has very pure, focused and pristine flavors of red berries and flowers, a very fine thread and elegant, fine-grained tannins. It fermented with 50% full clusters and matured in a small oak vat for 10 months. A great debut! 2,600 bottles produced. It was bottled in August 2024. It's drinking well but should keep and improve in bottle. - Luis Gutiérrez.
