Description

Un vin extraordinaire qui incarne le meilleur de la tradition de Saint-Émilion. Derrière ce projet se cache la famille Gratiot-Attmane, avec à sa tête le célèbre œnologue Nicolas Thienpont. Il suffit de consulter les notes attribuées par la critique internationale pour constater la qualité dont fait déjà preuve le millésime 2022 dès ses premières dégustations. Un véritable classique aux tanins fins, savoureux et subtils, à la hauteur de sa légende.

Description
Situé à l'ouest du Château Pavie et au nord du Château Troplong Mondot, Larcis Ducasse occupe le sommet de la célèbre Côte Pavie. Il bénéficie d'une situation exceptionnelle, entièrement exposée au sud. Son Terroir est digne d'un Grand Cru Classé.

James Suckling:

The aromas are subtle and complete, with a lovely combination of ripe berries, wet earth and sea salt. Medium-bodied with a dense palate that becomes bright, vivid, crunchy and spicy, with a fresh pear undertone to the subtle plum aftertaste. Extremely complex. 86% merlot and 14% cabernet franc. So drinkable now, but better after 2028.

Decanter:

Sumptuous almost in terms of the fruit flavour but also a little more restricted on the finish with the tannins putting up a bit of a wall right now with lots of toast, bitter chocolate and clove. Feels serious and well constructed but less immediately appealing than some. Cool blue fruit, dried herbs, liquorice - there’s good definition but at the same time lots of compaction. Needs time.

The Wine Advocate:

A blend of 86% Merlot and 14% Cabernet Franc, the 2023 Larcis Ducasse fully matches expectations formed at the en primeur tastings. Unfurling from the glass with aromas of dark berries, fresh licorice, gentian, smoke and flowers, discreetly accented by oak, it is medium- to full-bodied, suave and velvety, built around a fleshy core of fruit framed by powdery tannins, concluding with a delicately saline finish.
