Tintorera 2016
Description

They liked the challenge to work with Alicante Bouschet (or Garnacha Tintorera) and see if they could deliver a wine with freshness without any over-ripeness. The 2016 Tintorera is a blend of Alicante Bouschet with 25% Monastrell from old vines picked at 14.5% alcohol. It fermented with indigenous yeasts and matured in 500-liter oak barrels for 12 months. The oak is nicely integrated, and the wine keeps the varietal character and has freshness and balance, so I guess they achieved their objective, at least in the cooler and wetter 2016. 6,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in May 2018.
