L'avis des experts
The new white 2023 Velo de Flor Las Blancas Tradicionales follows the recipe of a white from the 19th century, produced with Verdil, which is good at expressing the limestone soils with contained alcohol. It fermented in stainless steel, with the complexity and saltines of the natural veil of yeasts that developed on the surface of the 500-liter tinaja, where it matured for eight months, followed by three more months in old Fondillón barrels. It has a golden color and a spicy nose with notes of curry and nuts, more a Mediterranean version of Jura than a Sherry, and it's sharp and fresh, with pungent flavors. It comes in at 12.1% alcohol, with a pH of 3.25 and 6.16 grams of acidity. It's fresh and balanced and has a salty twist in the finish. Only 650 numbered bottled were produced. It was bottled in March 2025.
A classy blend of 75% Verdil and 25% Malvasía of more than 50 years of age. It is a really textural wine with a defined wet stone and mineral character combined with fleshy peach and an attractive lemon pith finish. A slightly waxy sensation on the palate adds interest. 2024 - 2025
