Description

The Wine Advocate:

"I was pleasantly surprised by the 2013 Naranjas Azules Garnacha, a very pale, salmon-colored rose produced with Garnacha grapes in Valladolid, within the limits of the Rueda appellation, but bottled as Vino de la Tierra de Castilla y Leon. The three hectares of Garnacha, which were planted in 1994, are located at 740 meters altitude on sandy and chalky soils. The wine is produced as if it were a white to achieve the extra-pale color. The nose is not that far away from a white either, combining yellow fruits, bay leaf and freshly cut grass with faint aromas of strawberry. But it’s in the palate that the wine excels. The flavors are clean and pure and it has great acidity. There is no need to do ultra-profound wines all the time; now that producers are using good grapes for rose people will start appreciating them a lot more. This is so light, pleasant, refreshing and easy to drink that you’ll down a bottle in no time at all. Very good value as well. Drink now".
