L'avis des experts

The Wine Advocate:

The 2016 Barón de Magaña is a red blend, mostly Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Since 2015, they've been in search of a fresher, younger and more agile wine, easier to drink. It fermented with indigenous yeasts and moderate extraction (especially since 2012). The varieties matured separately in oak barrels for 10 months and then were kept in concrete until bottling. It has a harmonious nose, with herbal and spicy varietal aromas, with good ripeness and a medium-bodied palate, fine tannins, a soft texture and a tasty finish, with very good freshness. For the 2016, there will be 80,000 bottles in two lots. The first 40,000 bottles were filled in February 2020.
