Description

The Wine Advocate:

The 2013 Baltasar Gracián Garnacha Nativa wants to show the best Garnacha from each vintage and might include some lots from the Baltasar Gracián Garnacha Viñas Viejas. The flexibility in large cooperatives is quite an advantage and they can come up and bottle different wines all the time, which can also be a little confusing for consumers. 2013 was a cooler, low-yielding vintage and the smaller lots were fermented in open 500-liter oak barrels. It matured in barrel for one year before being blended and bottled. It's subtle and elegant, mixing ripeness with freshness, still quite young and lively despite its age. It has the signature palate of its siblings, polished tannins, tasty flavors and good freshness. Another one for the dinning table. With time in the glass it developed more complex flavors - balsamic and with notes of esparto grass and Mediterranean freshness. 2,800 bottles were filled in April 2016.
