Cepa 21 symbolise la facette la plus intrépide de la marque traditionnelle Emilio Moro. Il est destiné à une consommation plus tranquille, pour les winelovers avides de nouvelles sensations, sans pour autant oublier la subtilité de la maison. En raison des conditions climatiques de l’année, ce millésime 2016 se distingue par son équilibre et sa grande maturité, offrant un vin mono-cépage de Tempranillo d’une qualité exceptionnelle.

The flagship wine that carries the name of the project is currently the 2016 Cepa 21, produced with youngish Tempranillo matured in French barrique for 12 months. It has some spicy and smoky notes from the élevage in oak, which gives it a showy profile. It's ripe without excess with a sweetness of fruit that coats the palate and makes it a bit jammy. There are plenty of tannins to stand up to food. 420,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in June 2018.
The 2016 Cepa 21 (100% Tempranillo) offers a touch more richness and depth, with notes of ripe blackberries, toasted spices, lavender, and cedar. It's plush, full-bodied, and supple on the palate, with a great mouthfeel and loads of charm.
Big blueberry nose and generous tannins make this a bold wine and there’s a nice freshness on the finish. If this was more polished, it would rate even higher. Drink or hold.
