L'avis des experts

The Wine Advocate:

Based on 90% botrytis grapes, pressed for 12 hours and fermented as cleared must entirely in stainless steel, the 2015 Rheingau Riesling Auslese Hallgartener Jungfer displays a brilliant golden color and opens with a crystalline and spicy-flavored botrytis bouquet that is very precise, fresh and elegant, combining fruit, slate/quartzite and sulfur notes. On the palate, this is a very elegant, refined and balanced Riesling Auslese with a stimulating grip and salinity as well as a perfect mix of minerals, fruity sweetness and acidity. This is a gorgeously precise and finessed Auslese that was bottled with 9% alcohol and almost 94 grams of residual sugar that is perfectly absorbed not just by the acidity (10.8 grams per liter) but, most of all, the salty-mineral character. Bottled in April with a screwcap. Tasted in November 2017. - Stephan Reinhardt

Suckling:

Complex grilled artichoke and floral honey character. Power and crisp acidity, the finish seriously exciting. Best through 2040.
