The Wine Advocate:
A variety not so common in Rías Baixas, the 2017 O Esteiro Mencía has a minty touch, very different from the Mencía produced in other zones. The Mencía from Salnés is very fresh and has acidity and a fragile structure, and when it's close to the sea, it has this minty touch, more like a Cabernet Franc than any red from the Bierzo. I've seen a different side to the Mencía this time... 1,300 bottles were filled after one year in barrel.
