Description

Le Pancrudo est un vin élaboré exclusivement à partir de Grenache, fluide et élégant. Il provient des vignobles de l'Alto Najerilla, exposés au nord et situés à 650 mètres d'altitude. Ce vin rouge se distingue par ses arômes de fruits rouges mûrs sur un fond minéral délicat. Il incarne à la perfection le Grenache de La Rioja.

Dégustation

Nez
Des arômes de violette, de pétales de rose et de fruits rouges translucides, avec une touche d'épices et d'herbes. Très aromatique, enivrant, profond et intense.
Bouche
Il présente une bouche élégante, moyennement corsée, avec une acidité vive (baies acidulées), des arômes épicés et persistants, ainsi que des tanins fins et fermes.

Il est recommandé de le servir à 16 °C

Vignoble et élaboration

Description
Vieux vignobles cultivés en gobelet dans le village de Badarán (Haut Najerilla), exposés au nord et situés à 650 mètres d'altitude.
Sol
Argile ferreuse de couleur rougeâtre.
Vendanges
Vendange manuelle dans des caisses de 200 kg, tri des grappes au domaine.
Vinification
Vinification traditionnelle, avec fermentation en cuves en inox, accompagnée de légers pigeages pour permettre une extraction contrôlée des composés nobles de la peau. La fermentation malolactique s'effectue à 65 % en fûts de chêne français et à 35 % dans des cuves en béton.

The 2023 Pancrudo is pure Garnacha from 80+-year-old, head-pruned vines from Badarán on red soils rich in iron at 700 meters above sea level. The uncrushed grapes fermented with indigenous yeasts with a short maceration, and the wine matured in a combination of foudres, barriques and concrete eggs for one year. It's perfumed and aromatic, but it's not light or ethereal, it's structured and serious; it has integrated oak, but the thin patina of spice is there and the texture of the tannins also show it. With time, it develops some nuances of orange peel and gets more complex and interesting. It has elegance, power and ripeness, 14.5% alcohol, a pH of 3.41, with clout and abundant tannins. It's balanced and tasty, still young and with years ahead of it. If you want to open it now, it's already very pleasant, but it's better with food. 8,084 bottles and 170 magnums produced. It was bottled in May 2025.

James Suckling:

A juicy garnacha with plenty of ripe raspberries, rose hips and red berries. A touch of spices as well. Medium-bodied and brambly with firm, chalky tannins and a long, fruit-expressive finish. Concentrated but not candied. An approachable, immediately drinkable style. Released in 2026.

2023 wasn’t any easy year in the Alto Najerilla because of rain during harvest, but you wouldn’t know it from the quality of this varietal, old-vine Garnacha from Badarán. Scented, delicate, racy and refined, this is a crunchy, pithy, red-fruited delight with layers of strawberry and redcurrant, a waft of violet and a stony, slightly ferrous undertone. 2027-35
