Description

The Wine Advocate:

There is a second red, the 2015 Red Wine 2 Blend Syrah Merlot with 85% Syrah and the rest Merlot, the vintage with the least Merlot so far. This wine has no intervention whatsoever, no yeasts, no additions, no filtering and only a little sulfur added at bottling time. It's an unusual blend, but it somehow works and results in a wine of strong character and personality with the texture of the chalky tannins and that sapid, almost salty sensation provided by the place. The vines were planted in 2007. It matured in fifth use oak barrels for 23 months. 3,200 bottles were filled in February 2017.

James Suckling:

This is a unique wine from the Atacama Desert and has lots of earth and spice undertones; these are soon joined by fresh brambleberries and dark plums. Full body, grainy tannins, edgy acidity and a medium chewy finish. Drink in 2021.
