Description

Morellino di Scansano est le nom de l'appellation d'origine contrôlée italienne à laquelle appartient ce jeune roble de la cave Fattoria le Pupille. C'est un vin rouge que la maison a commencé à élaborer en 1985 et qui, depuis lors, a toujours fait partie du catalogue de la cave, étant actuellement l'un des vins phares de la maison. Le cépage autochtone Sangiovese domine un coupage caractérisé par des notes de fruits rouges, unpassage en bouche équilibré et un tanin qui lui donne une structure sans pour autant s'en lasser.

The Wine Advocate:

The 2018 Morellino di Scansano shows nice freshness and very decisive primary fruit. It is a sharp and zippy Morellino, carrying some tones of bitter almond and candied orange peel at the back of forest berry and wild cherry. The blend is 85% Sangiovese, 10% Alicante and 5% Ciliegiolo. This is an easy-drinking red that would feel right at home next to a cheesy baked eggplant dish.

Plums and spices with hints of chocolate and hazelnuts. Perfumed. Medium body, soft tannins and a savory finish. It’s complex with a cherry, light chocolate and walnut aftertaste. Blend of mostly sangiovese with ciliegiolo and alicante. Drink or hold.
