L'avis des experts

Tim Atkin:

It's easy to forget that Richi Fernández is still only 27 years old, such is the growing fame of this talented young winemaker. This beautifully refined Mazuleo from a 0.4-hectare vineyard at 550 metres is a graceful, domesticated expression of what can be a rustic grape, all pomegranate, goji berry and wild strawberry fruit, subtle reduction and succulent, caressing tannins. 2024-30

The Wine Advocate:

The 2021 Mazuelo de Larrumbe was produced with grapes from a small plot of 44-year-old vines at 560 meters in altitude on shallow limestone soils in a cool place that delivered a paler wine than the Garnacha and with only 13.2% alcohol and superb acidity and freshness (pH 3.1 and 7.1 grams of acidity measured in tartaric acid). It's aromatic, with notes of red fruit, herbs and a touch of honey and beeswax. It's medium-bodied, fresh and balanced, with very fine tannins. It's clean, long and has a certain lightness. 912 bottles were filled in January 2023.
