Decanter:

This is one of Rías Baixas’ most beautiful manorial estates, with glorious gardens. Marisol Bueno launched the winery with her husband in 1989, and was a driving force in the establishment of the DO as its first president. The wine, with its minimum 30 months on lees, proves beyond all doubt the ability of the best Albariños to age beautifully. The estate is now run by the couple’s daughter Vicky Mareque. Sarah Jane Evans MW: Can this really be Albariño at 10 years? It may have lost some primary peachy fruit, but the rounded citrus gives a lovely intensity with just a hint of bitterness. Pierre Mansour: Amazing, very complex nose, with bready, lemony notes. It has intensity yet superb control and balance. Beth Willard: Shows incredible youthfulness and bright fruit. A lovely oily, waxy character has developed with its time in bottle.

Tim Atkin:

"Very late and very good" is how Ana Quintela describes the 2013 vintage of Selección, sourced from the four-hectare Los Bancales vineyard that was planted in 1978. One of the greatest releases of this remarkable wine, it has aromas of kelp, beeswax, mint and wild mushroom, incredible focus and precision, old-vine intensity, notes of citrus peel and lanolin and impressive freshness for a wine that's just celebrated its tenth birthday. 2023-29
