L'avis des experts

Jeb Dunnuck:

Beautiful purity emerges from 2024 Château Labégorce, a blend of 47% Cabernet Sauvignon, 45% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc, and 3% Petit Verdot. Red and blue fruits, violets, leafy herbs, and spicy wood notes all flow to a medium-bodied, supple, textured wine with a layered mouthfeel and outstanding length.

Decanter:

Liquorice, tobacco and dark chocolate scents on the nose with blackcurrant too. Chewy, softly fruity and floral on the palate. This has a nice subtle bounce and soft fleshiness. Fruit has a touch of vibrancy but the coolness is enjoyable and it ends clean and focussed. Feels well presented with plenty of juicy acidity and aspects of fun - a rarity in this vintage. I suspect after ageing this will be more harmonised in terms of tannins and will be very enjoyable. Lovely. Nice salty minerality too. -Georgina Hindle.

James Suckling:

A perfumed and spicy nose, showing fresh herbs, blackcurrants, dark cherries and a touch of wet stones and white pepper. Juicy and bright on the palate with structured, fine-grained tannins and a solid finish of good length. This has some midterm potential.

Vinous:

The 2024 Labégorce has a nicely poised bouquet with crushed violet-tinged black fruit. The oak is nicely integrated in this Labégorce, a little "fuller" than its peers. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins. The 2024's fine backbone lends satisfying grip and weight, even if it doesn't quite have the complexity of the best recent vintages. It might well improve by the time of bottling. - Neal Martin.

Falstaff:

Dark ruby, purple reflections, subtle brightening on the rim. Delicate roasted aromas, dark cherries, a hint of cassis, inviting bouquet. Taut, red berry notes, racy acidity, saline minerality on the finish, a lively food wine.
