L'avis des experts

The Wine Advocate:

"The 2013 El Señorito is pure Cencibel, the local strain of Tempranillo from La Mancha, from a rainy year that saw harvesting in early October. They had some spring frosts that lowered the yields and the grapes were fermented in stainless steel with malolactic fermentation in concrete, as well as nine months in brand new 300-liter French oak barrels. The El Señorito vineyard is next to La Madre, in a cool valley that provided very low yields because of some frosts in the cooler vintage of 2013. This is a classic, modern Cencibel from La Mancha, with creaminess from the new oak and good freshness that provides elegance. There are some smoky notes and spices from the oak, as well as some aromas of beef blood and iron. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins and good acidity that make it easy to drink. It lacks a little in the mid palate, though. 8,000 bottles".
