The Wine Advocate:

I also sampled the 2017 El Tirachinas, which had a significant change from the 2016, as it matured in a 10,000-liter oak barrel instead of stainless steel. So the natural tendency of wines like this, powerful and with a reductive personality, seemed quite cushioned by the new élevage. All the vineyards they have are pretty old and tend to give concentrated wines. In 2017 they did a softer vinification, and even though the year was warm and dry, the wine does not show heat. I tasted from two bottles, one that had been opened for 24 hours and another one that was just opened and poured, and the wine hadn't moved much; it's quite resistant to oxidation. 4,670 bottles were filled in August 2018.
