Sourced from a cool vintage, the 2008 Aponte Reserva feels telluric and mineral, with notes of peat, graphite and balsamic with dry herbs, camphor and a core of ripe fruit without showing any excess. There is a hint of leather and animal fur that might displease some. The palate reveals fully-resolved tannins, good balance and freshness; this wine is polished and ready. 28,130 bottles.
