The Wine Advocate:

The white 2018 Mundo Zeppelling La Calabaza is named after a vineyard in the south of Ponferrada planted with the unheralded Palomino grape. 2018 was a wet year with a late harvest, and they described it as a more Atlantic (cool climate) year. This is from old, head-pruned vines planted on clay and quartz soils. Thirty percent of the volume fermented in tinaja (earthenware amphorae), where it was kept with the skins for eight months; the rest was pressed after three days with the skins and then fermented in used 500-liter French oak barrels, where it matured for 10 months. It has a golden color and a nose of quince paste, pollen, beeswax and chamomile, quite typical from the skin contact. The palate is quite lively and especially tasty, with fine tannins, structure (the aim of the skins) and integrated acidity. It follows the style of 2017. 1,500 bottles were filled in October 2019.
