La Muria 2022

The 2021 was a very hard act to follow, and the grapes for the 2022 La Muria were picked too late in that very warm year, at which point they had achieved very high ripeness. The wine finished with close to 14% alcohol, and it is denser, juicier and rounder, with a sensation of high ripeness. There's an herbal quality to it, with some hints of tomato vine and mint. The palate is round and lush, with abundant, slightly dusty tannins, a touch of rusticity and more weight, without the ethereal quality of the 2021. There was only one 500-liter barrel of this.
