The Wine Advocate (Jun. 2011):

"The 2006 El Rincon is from a different estate in the DO of Vinos de Madrid where the soil is decomposed granite. The wine is composed of 90% Syrah and 10% Garnacha aged for 10-12 months in seasoned French barriques. It displays a racier style with notes of Asian spices, incense, lavender, blueberry, and black cherry. It opens in the glass to reveal layered black fruits, plenty of spice, especially pepper, and outstanding volume. This well-proportioned wine can be approached now and will provide enjoyment for another 6-8 years.
Marques de Grinon is the title of the renowned Carlos Falco who revolutionized viticulture in Castilla La Mancha at his Dominio de Valdepusa estate in Toledo. The latest set of releases from Marques de Grinon are outstanding with several of them qualifying as excellent values."
