The phenolic tension and focus spreads on and on across the integrated palate. Medium- to full-bodied, this is flavorful with sliced apples and light pie-crust. Fermented and aged in a 10-hectoliter cask. Great finish. Drink or hold.
Made with 100% Carricante, this 7,000-bottle release is fermented in barrique and aged in French oak for nine months. The organic Tenuta delle Terre Nere 2023 Etna Bianco Calderara Sottana is extremely pretty and bright with tightrope aromas of crushed mineral, white citrus and unripe peach. However, the wine has the textural strength and depth to pair with shellfish or white meat. A slat-baked whole fish with fresh herbs comes to mind.
