L'avis des experts

The Wine Advocate:

I also tasted the 2018 Finca Calvestra Margas, which fermented with indigenous yeasts in 500-liter acacia wood barrels, where it matured with fine lees for 11 months followed by time in concrete until bottling. It has 13.5% alcohol, very good freshness (pH 3.23), mellow acidity and very good balance. Despite 2018 being a cooler vintage than 2017, this 2018 feels more Mediterranean with some hints of esparto grass and other dried herbs, fennel and aniseed, even a minty touch. The palate is medium-bodied, with medium ripeness and a dry, long and somewhat austere finish. 1,296 bottles were filled in August 2020.
