L'avis des experts

The Wine Advocate:

The 2016 Amarone della Valpolicella Classico Vigneti Vallata di Marano, a blend of 65% Corvina and Corvinone Veronese and 35% Rondinella, with the full 100-day air-drying treatment in the fruttaio, really shows the character of these limestone soils here by the foothills of the Dolomites. Specifically, the fruit comes from a vineyard lying at between 200 and 350 meters above sea level. This wine finishes its aging in large Slavonian oak casks in part, with another part that goes into barrique for 18 months.

James Suckling:

A beautifully crafted and focused red with dark-berry and walnut character. Full-bodied and very polished with a deep, silky tannin structure and a long, long finish. Drink or hold.

Decanter:

Dense, chewy and firmly tannic, with rich cordial fruit flavours - vivid and poised. Has promise but needs time.
