Tim Atkin:

Fans of mature Ribera del Duero with appealing bottle age and effortless complexity should get hold of a bottle of this pure Tempranillo from the La Hoyada vineyard at 910 metres in Fompedraza. Less traditional than some of the Benito Hernández brothers' wines, this is aged in French oak for 16 months and is floral, youthful and focused with classic páramo (moorland) acidity and tangy black fruit. 2022-26
