L'avis des experts

Tim Atkin:

La Bienquerida is a single plot in the paraje Las Chas, planted in 1906 on slate. As in many old sites, the vineyard is co-planted with Mencía, Merenzao, Doña Blanca, Pan y Carne and Palomino. It has been aged for 15 months in French 500L barrels and one foudre which is already well integrated with the bold and intense fruit of Valtuille de Arriba. Red cherry, blackcurrant and violets segue into a slatey, ferrous palate with a twist of orange. The wine has a mineral, flinty core, and is both powerful yet poised. 2024-34.

James Suckling:

Chalky and minerally nose with bright racy berries, flowers and grapefruit. Mealy, powerful tannins shows the al-dente texture and the freshness of this Bierzo mencia. So drinkable now, but can hold. (Zekun Shuai)
