The red 2018 Tras da Canda is a blend of Espadeiro, Caíño and Loureiro from the same young vineyard in the middle of a eucalyptus forest where the white of this same name is sourced. It fermented destemmed in open-top barrels and matured in a 400-liter oak barrel for 12 months. The nose has a strong herbal strike, minty, almost with notes of eucalyptus, balsamic. The palate seems to have more weight and tannin, more power. With the trellises, the red grapes ripen properly, and yields are a little lower. Only 500 bottles were filled in March 2020.
