Saktih 2016

The varietal Petit Verdot 2016 Saktih was produced with grapes from high-density vines planted in 2003 on limestone-rich soils. The grapes fermented in their stone lagares from the 12th century with indigenous yeasts and matured in new barriques for 24 months followed by five months in oak vats. It's not oaky at all. It's creamy and has a luxurious texture—round, with gentle tannins and showing varietal notes of black peppercorns and wild herbs. It's balanced and has lively acidity running through its core. 1,900 bottles were filled in April 2019.
