Libre y Salvaje Cariñena 2021
Description

Seductive and racy nose full of vivid ripe strawberries, red cherries, tile and a nice touch of dark earth funk and sweet spices. This really excels in fruit juiciness, with fresh, fine-grained tannins. It goes on for quite a while. Already irresistible, so why hold? Drink now.
The perfumed and honeyed red 2021 Cariñena, a variety that represents 40% of their vineyards but only 4% in the region. It was produced with grapes from 40-year-old vines fermented in oak vats and with an élevage in oak vat (60%), concrete (20%) and 500-liter barrels (20%) that lasted 20 months. It has notes of black berry fruit, some herbal and spicy notes and an earthy twist, with some dusty tannins and the varietal character of the grape, slightly rustic. It's medium to full-bodied, with good ripeness, contained 13.55% alcohol and good freshness and acidity reflected by the pH of 3.38 and 6.48 grams of acidity. 7,100 bottles produced. It was bottled in June 2024.
