L'avis des experts

The Wine Advocate:

The top-of-the-range 2018 La Gándara is the one wine where the toasty oak is still too obvious. It's a field blend from 1.3 hectares of micro-plots that they consider their best vineyard. It's approximately 87% Mencía, 10% Alicante Bouschet and 3% Palomino that matured in 500-liter oak barrels for 14 months. The palate also shows abundant tannins and oak-related flavors, but there's freshness and stuffing. 1,300 bottles produced. It was bottled in February 2020.
