L'avis des experts

The Wine Advocate:

The one white I tasted was produced with Albillo Real and Albillo Mayor grapes, the variety found in Gredos and Ribera del Duero, respectively. The 2016 Ulterior – Parcelas 7 y 9 showed high ripeness and aromas of yellow fruit, hay and straw and hints of pollen. The grape ripens very early, in late August, and the wine has moderate alcohol and good acidity. The vines are only six years old and planted on stony, limestone-rich soils, which are abundant in La Mancha. After fermenting in stainless steel, the wine matured in 4,700-liter terra-cotta amphorae for eight months. A white wine of character, with the varietal bitterness in the finish. 7,000 bottles were filled in April 2017. - Luis Gutiérrez.
