Description

The Wine Advocate:

I love the new profile and image of the 2018 El Regalo, which now mentions the village (Villabuena) and the size of the vineyard (3.9 hectares) on the label (at least the bottles I received), same as the new Garnacha bottling. This really feels like a new wine compared to previous vintages. That might be because it includes a percentage of white grapes (8% Malvasía and 6% Viura) fermented in Austrian oak vats and matured in a mix of 225-liter barrels and 5,000-liter oak vats. This is clean and moderately ripe, with integrated oak and a medium-bodied palate that reveals fine-grained tannins, very good purity and definition. 14,328 bottles and 128 magnums. It was bottled in July 2020.

Suckling:

Aromas of plums, dried herbs, tea leaves, cedar and baking spices. It’s full-bodied with velvety tannins. Round and creamy with a fruity edge and a long finish. Touch of chocolate to the fruit. Drink now or hold.
