Milsetentayseis Tinto 2 2021 Magnum
Description

Immediately arresting on the nose with its jumpy aromas of dried herbs, white pepper, mushrooms and minerals on top of the red cherries and berries. Full-bodied and powerful, with an abundance of chalky tannins. Long and very focused. From organically grown grapes. Drink or hold.
This remarkable Tinto Fino comes from 85 small parcels on clay and mica-rich soils, located between 900 and 1,000 metres in Fuentenebro. Lithe, chiselled, perfumed and ethereal, it's a Ribera del Duero for Pinot Noir or Mencía lovers, with lots of stony minerality, redcurrant, strawberry and pomegranate flavours, subtle 50% new wood and a bright, tapering finish. 2026-35.
The 2021 Tinto is fragrant, subtle and elegant, not lacking ripeness or power with its 14.5% alcohol, but it has the freshness of the cooler year and the high altitude where the vines grow. Each small plot was vinified separately without using pumps, only by gravity, in different formats and materials—small oak vats, concrete, stainless steel and even clay amphorae—and the wine matured in barrels and oak vats for 18 months. It has a medium- to full-bodied palate and abundant, fine-grained tannins. 47,137 bottles produced. It was bottled in the spring of 2023. (Luis Gutiérrez)
