The 2015 Riesling Erdener Treppchen Auslese *** (White Capsule) opens super clear, deep and intense on the impressively aromatic and still somewhat yeasty nose. Very clear, rich and concentrated on the palate, this Riesling cru is too multidimensional to appreciate today. It is an abstract artwork with great elegance and finesse, superb length and powerful as well as a salty finish with grip, structure and everything you might want to add into a great wine. However, the complex everything has to come down, and it surely will—in 10 or 20 years. - Stephan Reinhardt.
Cool fennel and herbal character. Plenty of power, but it's underplayed and the wine comes off as being rather delicate in spite of the considerable concentration. Better from 2018 and could easily age to 2030.
A la edad de 20 años, Markus Molitor tuvo que hacerse cargo de la bodega de su padre. A pesar de su juventud e inexperiencia, su objetivo fue claro y preciso, y no fue otro que el de producir uno de los mejores rieslings del Mosela.
