There’s a salty freshness to this elegant Champagne, alongside the almond blossom, pastry and sliced apple aromas. It’s sleek, dry and refreshing, with fine bubbles and a classy finish. Drink now. - Claire Nesbitt, Staff Writer & Critic.
A springtime meadow, with its scents of buttercups, dandelion flowers and alfalfa, evolving into honeyed scents (St. John's wort, elderberry) that blend with the first stone fruits (Napoleon cherry, apricot, rhubarb). This duality of vegetal freshness and crunchy fruit is reflected in a full-bodied, fleshy texture. The bubbles have just the right amount of energy, leading to a refined, unctuous and charming finish.
The Chardonnay in this Champagne gives it a tight, mineral character. Acidity and citrus vie with the wine's white fruits. There are just hints of brioche and toast, suggesting this bottling is at a great point for drinking. (Roger Voss)
The latest rendition of Gosset's NV Brut Grand Blanc de Blancs reveals youthful aromas of citrus zest, white flowers and almond paste. Medium to full-bodied, bright and fleshy, with tangy acids and a pillowy mousse, it concludes with chalky grip. This Champagne's structure suggests that it should develop gracefully in the cellar. -William Kelley.
A hint of chalk appears even before subtle notes of autolysis become apparent. The slender palate comes with disarming freshness and poise, revealing edges of fresh lemon, subtle patisserie, more chalk and richer hints of lemon oil. Precise in character with a very fine mousse, and so long.
