Estrany 2015

I also tasted the 2015 Estrany, a slightly more challenging year for this skin-contact Xarello from their organically and biodynamically farmed vineyards on limestone rich soils. It was a very short crop, and only 644 bottles were produced. Here the skin contact seems to mark the wine quite a bit, with notes of quince and clay, a little earthy, with pit fruit aromas, yellow fruit and controlled oxidation. This can probably age for a very long time, with fine, abundant tannins and some notes of iodine. This is a very different, personal wine. It was bottled in May 2017.
