The Wine Advocate:

There are some new wines, including a barrel-fermented white 2017 Ondarea that they produced in search of more complexity and aging potential but without losing the freshness of the wines from the zone. It fermented and matured in used 500-liter oak barrels for three months with the lees and then was let to settle in tank. This is more wine than Txakoli, with a very chalky nose and an austerity that granite soils sometimes provide. I love the nose. The palate is more generous, with 13% alcohol and a rounder mouthfeel, pleasant bitter notes on the finish and a soil-driven sensation. Balanced and tasty, a great white. It's a triumph over the adverse conditions of the year. The oak is neatly integrated and seamless. 3,000 bottles were filled in April 2018.
